Have you ever heard anyone talk about natural electricity
before? If not, that’s no surprise. Most people call it “

.” It’s the buildup of electric charges on an object.
What does that mean? Let’s look inside an
atom

Everything in the world is made of tiny atoms. And atoms
are made up of three smaller particles. They are called
protons
,
neutrons
, and
electrons
.
Protons have a positive electric charge. Neutrons have no
charge. And electrons have a negative electric charge. Atoms
have the same number of protons and electrons, so their
charges balance out.
But sometimes electrons get pulled off an atom.
