ill Smith had bills to pay, and he needed to make
more money. What if his career as a rapper did
not last? He decided to pursue another
potentially high-paying career path: acting. Philadelphia was a
fine city for a young rap musician, but he did not consider it the
best place for someone who wanted to be a professional actor.
So Smith began to think about moving west, to Los Angeles.
