W ill Smith had bills to pay, and he needed to make
more money. What if his career as a rapper did
not last? He decided to pursue another
potentially high-paying career path: acting. Philadelphia was a
fine city for a young rap musician, but he did not consider it the
best place for someone who wanted to be a professional actor.
So Smith began to think about moving west, to Los Angeles.
His partner Jeff, on the other hand, wanted to stay in
Philadelphia, where his family and friends lived.
