same, but are spelled differently and have different
meanings. For example, the words
nice
and
gneiss
(the
kind of metamorphic rock that forms when granite is
exposed to heat or pressure) are homophones.
You can create a great joke by mixing homophones.

He turns into Mr. Gneiss (NICE) Guy.
